CityTravelGuides.Info as the spot today so let’s talk a bit about the blog. It is intended as a very-low maintenance blog and it will generate revenue from ads and affiliate marketing. In about 3 weeks we will add it to clicksor and maybe infolinks along adsense as per owners request. The blog was already accepted to display affiliate ads from a major network and other links can be added courtesy to Ninja affiliate.

As for design, as I stated, we tried to maintain a clean look but with an individual feel. We used only a few colors, mainly green as per client request, but we accented the whole look by adding a subtle but distinct background. That was a challenge as it had to match the rest of the site’s background perfectly and I think we did a good job at that. You can judge below – the main page (click for a larger view):

AmaNiche plugin is installed and ready to use but as always our avice is to build traffic and activate/add monetization features gradually over time. As I mentioned, we will add Clicksor and other ads over the next weeks.

I will digress a bit as I got some emails asking me why we keep using gmail considering this. Well, in order to send and receive reports and actually working on them, we found Gmail incredibly helpful so we have to use it to insure a good work flow. we do send duplicate emails from our Yahoo account whenever we have an Yahoo subscriber as customer.  If you plan to order, contact us from an email different than Yahoo

Now back to Leon’s custom blog.  Once we established communication, we started the work and all went well. The niche he choose is great and could be a real goldmine if he will listen to our advices (do you read this Leon?)   There are a lot of money in the domains and hosting bizz and while it’s not easy to get top rankings the money can come with a bit of work.

The major issue we had with this blog was that Lon changed his mind right after we were finished with his custom design and all the elements were in place…Usually we would have charged him as we had to do a lot of work again but since Leon it’s a nice customer I decided to help him fulfilling his vision.

I liked a lot the look and functionality of the theme as it has a lot of clever design elements that help maintaining a professional and clean look without affecting any other elements.

It is also very customizable and while it’s most suitable for a business blog it can be easily transformed to suit almost any need.

Anyway, Leon decided that he would rather use the Pro Affiliate theme V2.

It it a great theme but of course it’s designed to be used as a affiliate product review showcase,so the elements needed to do this are already incorporated in the theme. This makes it a bit less flexible than the Woo theme we used in the first design as many elements cannot be removed without affecting functionality. For example, the price tag and buy now buttons are present under each post, be it a review or regular post. It’s not a major issue but not small either.

Considering the huge potential around the mortgage, loans and general investments, the Calculators blog is fit in a golden niche. What we did is to prepare the filed for future development. We made sure the most reacheable  keywords are used in the initial set of articles and a few other extras were added into the mix.

We have today a new blog launch. For those willing to see the blog live, go to Beat Depression Forever For a list of features, read ahead.

This one was a fun project, despite of the chosen niche. As with a lot of heaqlth and mental health realted niches(see anxiety…), it is hard to find a sweet spot for a new blog. We did our job however and gathered a host of nice keywords. Most of them are not in the easy-to-domincate catergory, but they are rewarding in the visitors field.

It was another time-consuming project, not so big as the Royce Mills one, but still …

This is the first theme we used that uses theintegrated custom fields available from  Wp 2.9 update. It’s a very nice feature, that makes posting the thumbnail and the gallery image a breeze. Just select post thumbnail from the Wp menu, go to your media library and select the image and that’s it. In the image to the left you have the result, the image that will be used it’s displayed for confirmation and can be removed with one mouse click.

In this casee, the same image is used for the image gallery on the front page. Neat and easy.

We have finished today a new Xtreme Blog for our friend Royce Mills. He is trying this year to make his way among the Clickbank gurus and we helped him with RoyceMills.com

Today we have another launch of a new Xtreme blog. This one is into fashion niche, another tough one! Many starters are afraid of going after the bigger niches and just forget  the fact that there are also big money! It’s surely hard to make your way to the top but once there you have much more to gain. It’s worth the effort, just for the reward – you wouldn’t just play one game on Partypoker if you knew that by trying you could take an entire tournament, would you?
